Food from my hometown: Antwerp

My favorite croque is Croque Hawaii. Croque originated in France and is a common snack in Belgian restaurants and tea rooms. It comes in many variations and the one I had Croque Hawaii is a toasted sandwich with ham, cheese and a slice of pineapple. Salad is usually served as a side. Croque is tasty and quick to make at home - Restaurant Big Apple, Antwerp

Delicious home-made lasagna - Restaurant Big Apple, Antwerp

Fancy a tray of Nachos with lots of Jalapeno pepper and melted cheese at the movies? UGC Cinema, Antwerp

Mussels in vegetable stock, with bits of celery, leek & onions

a Must Try, best fries in town! We ordered "Friet speciaal" (fries served with mayonnaise, curry ketchup & onions) and frikandel (aka curryworst) plus chicken sates sprinkled with some spice powder
Fritpaleis, Deurne

My favorite Belgian dish Vol-au-vent (aka Kippepasteitje and Koninginnehapje)
