Colour Brown Coffee @ Sai Kung
Though typhoon 8 was coming, it couldn't refrain me from visiting Colour Brown Coffee in Sai Kung! Yeah, I know I'm a crazy gal ^.^
To quench my thirst for java, I usually go to The Corridor in Causeway Bay and Coco Espresso in Sheung Wan. It takes me about an hour to get to both coffee shops which are located on Hong Kong Island. For a cup of real good coffee, I don't mind traveling far and wide!
After yesterday's visit to Colour Brown, I've finally found a nice & cosy café close to my place, just 20min away! ^_^
Colour Brown is tucked behind the famous "Seafood Street" at the waterfront. From the bus terminal just a few min walk.
It takes no sweat to find the café, you spot it right away because of the antique Chinese wooden carved door. When I asked Edwin (the owner of the shop) whether he named his shop "Colour Brown" because of the color of coffee bean, he said just partly as the name also refers to his favorite color brown and to the brown wooden door :)
The Honey Ginger Latte is definitely a must try, I would prefer drinking it when the weather is colder though. Worth mentioning, they use fresh raw honey which is supplied by his aunt who's a beekeeper! ^^ Honey is very nutritious for the skin and helps sore throat. Ginger's got numerous health benefits as well, it warms your lungs and stomach and cures cold, cough...
The latte isn't spicy at all because of the presence of honey giving this very nourishing coffee a sweetish and pleasant taste~
Edwin is just like the other coffee shop owners I know, nice and talkative! Plus he's got 2 cute doggies Cheese and Go-On who welcome you at the door :) On my next visit, I wanna play and take pictures with them!

Coco Espresso, Sheung Wan
I was in bad need of REAL & GOOD coffee so invited my cousin for coffee break @ Coco Espresso. Johnson recognized me from my last visit and I guess he remembered my name from the comments I left on his blog ^_^ When he noticed I was taking photos of the coffee and food again, he made a joke about not posting the pics on my blog if they aren't shot nicely.
Funny guy :)
My cousin ordered 2 coffee too, I recommended her to try cappuccino and caramel latte. The latter one has become her favorite!
Before we left, I wrote a note saying "Heerlijke koffie!!! Groetjes van W." and passed it to John for him to stick it onto his colorful message board which was already covered with lots of other people's comments written in Italian, English, Chinese,... and as of today one in Dutch too! ^^

Azabusabo, Tsim Sha Tsui
I fell in love with Azabusabo's Green Tea Ice Cream with Sweet Potato ever since the 1st time I tasted it! Soft and silk smooth Hokkaido ice cream perched on warm sweet potato cake and doused with green tea sauce! Totemo oishii desu! Absolutely scrumptious! ^_^
... filled with red bean paste~

Moon Kee Honeymoon Dessert, Shatin New Town Plaza
Snow jelly is prescribed to treat respiratory symptoms such as coughing. I used to cough incessantly for like 6 months. The constant coughing kept me up at night, I tried every cough syrup, drank liters of bitter Chinese herbal soups, unfortunately nothing helped.....until a good friend of my mom advised her to cook snow jelly tong sui with red dates. I drank the sweet soup daily and miraculously in less than a week I got rid of my nasty cough! ^_^
Hasma not only stops coughing but nourishes your skin too! ;)

UCC Coffee shop, Shatin New Town Plaza
Before leaving the mall, we hopped in UCC for a quick coffee break!

I usually order Sumiyaki coffee (which is Japanese for charcoal roasted coffee) @UCC because of the deep rich aroma and the smooth flavor. The coffee cup and saucer look so lovely with those little flowers! ^^

Yummy Green Tea Egg Roll with Red Bean Filling
Very yummy green tea egg roll filled with red beans made by a friend who loves making cakes and pastries. She did a great job knowing it was her first time making egg roll :) The roll was very fluffy in texture, had a nice green tea flavor, filling was not too sweet, topped with freshly made whipped cream. Delicious! ^_^ Way to go!

Simplylife Bakery Cafe, Festival Walk
If you're looking for a cozy coffee shop in Festival Walk where you can sit down, relax and enjoy bossa nova and French jazz music while sipping your coffee, Simplylife Bakery Cafe is the right place to be. Personally I prefer sitting inside, less noisy, more privacy and I can enjoy the music :)
While I had regular coffee, my friend tried Mocha which she didn't like because the chocolate flavor was too strong and covered the coffee taste.
To fulfill our craving of sweets, we tried the Berry Cheesecake, Lemon Tart with Egg White Cream and Black Forest. The latter tasted so so, too sweet and lacked moist. Lemon Tart had a nice sweetish sour lemon flavor, good option if you want something sweet and light. Among the three, Berry Cheesecake was the yummiest! Very smooth and fruity~

Chocolux Cafe, Admiralty
Tucked in the basement of Three Pacific Place, Chocolux Cafe serves rich chocolate based desserts (cakes, chocolates, brownies) and chocolate based beverages (coffee, cocoa, cocktails). The 72% bittersweet hot cocoa was nice so were the Banana & Chocolate and Cinnamon Butter Crepes which were light and a bit crispy in texture.
