Hokkaido Ramen Santouka @Tsim Sha Tsui

While looking around for a place for light dinner in the new iSquare mall, this ramen shop caught our eyes because it was the only dining venue that was packed and people were standing in line to get a table.

I tried the combo Shio Ramen with mild and creamy pork broth served with rice topped with dried bonito and green onion. The ramen was cooked al dente and was tasty~

Wara Wara Japanese Casual Restaurant @Mongkok

Shirokiya Fruit Punch (a Collagen drink), Scallop sauteed in garlic butter
Spicy French fries, Deep-fried chicken cartilage, California roll and Salmon & fresh veggies in honey dressing.

I prefer Wara Wara to Watami because of its extensive menu of main/side dishes and drinks.
The scallops, French fries and chicken cartilage are very tasty! A must try :)

Nishiki Japanese Yakitori Restaurant @ Tsim Sha Tsui East

I was looking for a good Japanese restaurant to celebrate a friend's birthday and wanted to try something new other than sushi/sashimi. There was this review on the best authentic Japanese restaurants in last week's Eat & Travel Magazine so while browsing through it, the mouth watering yakitori pictures from Nishiki caught my eye! I decided to give it a try :)

Nishiki is nestled on the 1st floor of Regal Kowloon Hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui East. The place is not very big but its interior gives you a nice homely feel.

I guess Nishiki is a popular dining place cos there was a photographer shooting photos for another local food magazine. (there's a review on this restaurant in this week's U-mag too!)

The owner Mr. Noboru posing for the camera.

My friend, who's a Japanese tutor and a real food lover, chose 11 kinds of dishes from the extensive menu. Minced chicken meat sausage with raw egg to start off! The sausage tasted really good! Juicy and tender! Must try!

Chicken kneecap cartilage (Nankotsu)

Beancurd salad

Chicken liver

Natto (fermented soy beans) stuffed with meat

I was told and warned that natto is a Japanese delicacy which has a very strong and powerful smell. As I'm open to any kind of food (except for cooked insects!) and since natto is not a common dish that you can find in every Japanese restaurant, we ordered a plate to try...

OMG!! My first bite was also my last bite cos natto STINKS!!! The taste was awful and couldn't stand the slimy texture! YUCK!! No more natto for me! :P

Deep fried chicken & cheese spring roll

Another must try: minced chicken meat wrapped with fried beancurd

Chicken skin garlic roll & beef tongue

Beef tongue was tasty, gonna order this again next time ^^

Chicken wing

Yummiest cold udon I've tried! Super fresh, silk smooth and chewy, totemo oishii! ^^

A pot for your skewers, cute :)

Azabusabo, Tsim Sha Tsui

I fell in love with Azabusabo's Green Tea Ice Cream with Sweet Potato ever since the 1st time I tasted it! Soft and silk smooth Hokkaido ice cream perched on warm sweet potato cake and doused with green tea sauce! Totemo oishii desu! Absolutely scrumptious! ^_^

Signature dessert Green Tea Ice Cream with Sweet Potato ...

... filled with red bean paste~

Soft ice cream with sweet potato and cookies drenched in caramel sauce

Ippei-An Ramen & Bar, Tsim Sha Tsui

I took my cousins to Ippei-An for lunch today. This Japanese restaurant is well-known for their ramen and homemade gyozas.

Tasty tofu topped with finely chopped hanakatsuo (dried, fermented and smoked tuna) served on hotplate

Nagasaki Ramen in flavorful miso soup

Yummy Higomonzu Ramen with char siu and stewed pork in rich & creamy Tonkotsu (pork bone) soup ~

Watami, Shatin New Town Plaza

Light lunch with dad and mom @ Watami today, we didn't order much as none of us was very hungry. (I planned to have coffee break later so didn't want to eat too much ^_~)

New on the menu, Seafood Cream Pizza. Quite creamy taste wise but I find the crust a bit too soft, I prefer a more crunchier bottom base.

The popular Watami salad

Deep-fried Octopus Cake

Assorted Deluxe Sushi was of course very OISHIIII! ^^
