Soulmate Coffee @Kwai Fong

A while ago I saw the introduction of this newly opened coffee shop in U Mag and its name caught my eye right away.
I happened to be around Kwai Fong area the other day to have lunch with a friend and hopped in for a quick coffee break before lunch. The latte was surprisingly good! Very smooth, foamy and well balanced, just the way I like my coffee!
I particularly love the thick layer of milk foam, reminds me of Coco Espresso's! On my top 3 best coffee list, no doubt Coco Espresso ranks first place and Soulmate Coffee second :)

Latte (snapped it with my Iphone)

On my 2nd visit with friends, I tried flat white which was good too, though I still prefer latte. Next time I'll try something with caramel..

Soulmate Coffee is nestled in the crowded Kwai Chung Plaza. Very small shop with a few seats at the counter.

I like the name Soulmate Coffee very much, as well as the little saying "Soulmate shares your bittersweet" and the fish 蘇眉 "so mei" (Napolean Fish, which is pronounced as "so mei" in Cantonese and sounds like soulmate ^^ ) they use as the symbol to represent the coffee shop.

@Rex Caffe, Central

Lunch with a friend at the newly opened @Rex Caffe in Central~

Baguette with mushrooms and bacon

The Spaghetti Carbonara was lip smacking good! Very rich and cheesy sauce~~

If you're a chocoholic, must try their black chocolate. Rich in texture, strong chocolate flavor and luscious in taste.

The cappuccino was not bad, strong espresso poured with a layer of soft milk foam.

Sweetheart Dessert @Sai Kung

Sweetened Black & White Sesame Cream

Black sesame helps to keep your hair, internal organs and skin healthy while white sesame nurtures your skin~

I like My Milly's blog a lot and even though I don't know enough Chinese characters to fully understand what Milly is writing, I still enjoy visiting her blog from time to time. I love her simple yet stylish blog layout and it's the beautiful pictures and drawings that attract me the most ^_^

House of Jasmine @ Tsim Sha Tsui

Today is a very memorable day cos it's our parents' 38th wedding anniversary! Me and my brother took them out to dinner at House of Jasmine to celebrate this very special day :)

As starter we had their signature crispy Barbecued Suckling Pig.

Green Snail Spring green tea
(also known as Bi Luo Chun tea 碧螺春)

Double Boiled Chicken and Wolfberry Soup served in clay cup
Flavorful soup which tasted a bit like "yuk guat cha".

Pea Shoots dao miu

"Pork in 3 taste" (shrimp paste, red braised and lemon)

Steamed Prawn on Egg White with Tai Diao rice liquor had a very velvety smooth texture.

Crisp Fried Tofu with Salt and Pepper

The Jasmine Tea and Lime Parfait was lip-smacking!

Pan-fried Sticky Rice Cake filled with Black Sesame

Outside seating with a view of the harbour

Initial Cafe @Tsim Sha Tsui

Initial Cafe is a good place to chill out. The interior gives you a cozy and homey feeling.

Their "Designed Cappuccino" (right) tasted better than expected! The texture of the milk foam was pretty smooth and got a luscious taste (I suspect they use Pura fresh milk?)

Nice place for coffee break with friends where you can sit down and chat for hours without being disturbed. Good coffee though a bit overpriced. Cappuccino @HK$35

Antipasto @Wanchai

The simple yet cozy decor and relaxed ambiance remind me of this restaurant in Belgium where I used to go. Lots of Western customers, mostly Italian, feels like I'm back in Belgium again.
Feeling a bit nostalgic...

Wonder if their pasta is as authentic and good?

We ordered Chicken Caesar Salad and Pasta Antipasto. Though the portion of the pasta was relatively small, taste wise it was ravishing! The fettuccine with salmon pieces and mushrooms has absorbed the rich creamy sauce, very tasteful~

Besides the yummy pasta, the Quesadilla Mexican and juicy BBQ Baby Spare Ribs are worth trying too.

Overall great food, good service. Be back soon!

Zambra @Wanchai

Zambra is a flamenco dance and in Arabic it means "party".

1,5 year ago Felix (from The Corridor) recommended us 2 coffee shops, Coco Espresso and Zambra. Well, for those who have been reading my blog for a while know I'm a big fans of Coco cos Johnson's cappuccino is undeniably the best!

I've been meaning to visit Zambra ever since but haven't gotten the chance to do so until last Sunday.

Me and my friend decided to give their cappuccino a try. When the waiter brought our coffee, the beautifully created coffee art caught my eyes instantly!

Very cute chick

I like the lady's face coffee art the most, very refined and elegant.

Full bodied espresso topped with a thick layer of milk foam. Texture wise not as thick and smooth as Coco's milk foam (I wonder what milk they're using cos it sure didn't taste like Pura). But all in all it's good cappuccino :)
The sharp & cheerful yellow blue cup and saucer are very eye-catching~
