Orchard Garden Cafe & Restaurant, Causeway Bay

Cozy, bright decor & comfortable seats at Orchard Garden Cafe

Chit Chat for hours and hours...

Yummy pizza with Tomato, Mushrooms & Pineapple in pesto. BIG slices of fresh tomatoes, mushrooms and pineapple, the crust was thin and crispy, all smothered in thick-layered creamy cheese! Though the cheese could have been more fragrant and saltier, the pizza was still ravishing! ^.^

Seafood Spaghetti in tomato soup is very similar, almost identical to UCC's, especially the flavor of the soup is almost the same, very rich and full of flavor! If you want to try other dishes/desserts, you can share this with a friend cos the portion is quite big.

Honey Osmanthus & Apple Tea served in nice porcelain cups

We had Apple & Banana pizza as dessert which was a little bit disappointing. Firstly the layer of the pizza was too thin so were the wafer-thin apple slices. As a result, no mouth feel at all. Secondly the picture on the dessert menu was misleading in terms of proportion. The pizza on the menu looked huge and was covered generously with thick apple slices (like those open-face tarte tatin apple pies) but it turned out to be a tiny pizza topped with thin petit slices of apple.

Odeon Taiwanese Cafe, Whampoa

Whampoa shopping BOAT, let's shop in a ship for a change! :)

Fuzhou meat buns, the filling tasted so so but the bun itself was good, smooth and soft.

The crystal rice roll (made from Tianjin rice flour, not to mix up with steamed "cheung fun") seasoned with vinegar was very smooth and stomach filling! Was already 3/4 full before I could try the other dishes.

Century egg with bean curd & dried fish flakes: the taste was ok but the appearance really needs some improvement, looks pretty messy...

I find their dried noodle with marinated beef & spring onion really tasty and flavorful.

Popular tea beverage in Taiwan, Bubble tea with tapioca pearls. The one I had was blended with jasmine tea which was not as good as the Bubble Jasmine tea from Saint's Alp Teahouse because the jasmine fragrance was not strong enough.

Yin Yue at Panda Hotel, Tsuen Wan

Dim sum at restaurant Yin Yue which is located on the 30th floor of the Panda Hotel. Chic & classy restaurant, pricey dim sums, between $40 and $50 per plate of 3pcs to 4pcs.

Very tasty salmon tarts!

"Wong Kiu" siu beng pancakes

Char siu pastry (叉燒酥) topped with blueberry

I love their hakau!! Big and stuffed full of tender and delicious shrimp. The wrapper was not too thin and not too thick, just right. The texture was sticky and chewy too.

Vegetarian dumplings

Steamed shrimp wo tip

Steamed coconut milk curd with aloe vera. Delicious and nutritious but really heavy!

Osmanthus (桂花) green tea jelly puddings

All time favorite! Steamed red bean 砵仔糕 (boot jai go). Best chef is my grandma and the ones I often buy from this nice street vendor lady are good too, her snowballs with peanut filling (lo mai chi) are enormously yummy as well! Personally, I prefer the plain brown boot jai go (made from cane sugar) without red beans that has a smooth, firm and chewy texture.

Chinese desserts

We bought these colorful jelly puddings at a Chinese dessert shop at Tai Wai Train Station today.

Assorted jelly puddings, from bottom to top: Osmanthus & Water Chestnut jelly pudding, Lycium Fruit & Longan jelly pudding, Green Tea & Rose jelly pudding and the white one is Coconut pudding with Yellow Split Peas.

I like the one with Lycium Fruit & Longan the most. The other three tasted too insipid. Also if the texture of the puddings was more solid, it would have more "mouthfeel" and would be easier to slice off the jellies evenly.

Cafe Corridor (again!), Causeway Bay

New photo exhibition at Cafe Corridor

There is Felix again, next time we should ask him to show us how to make those cute coffee art :)

Got there a bit early today so was looking around and discovered this wall stuck with photos and.....OUR messages! That's very nice of you, thanks Felix! ^_^

Didn't notice these huge coffee beans on the staircase before...

Of course we took a photo to remember today's visit..

Tried the pasta for the first time, I had spaghetti with bacon and mushroom in cream sauce . It was good, not too heavy. Since I'm a salty person and used to strong aromatic food (because of my Hakka roots, I guess, fyi Hakka food tends to be more salty and fragrant) I would prefer a stronger flavored cream sauce.

Since my favorite apple crumble was sold out, Felix recommended the caramelized apple tart or tarte tatin in French. The apples tasted very buttery and tasteful. It was very delicious but if I had to choose between apple crumble and apple tart, sorry, crumble still rocks! Its crispy crunchy crust is really yummy!

For chocoholic + cheese cake lover: frosty New York Cheese Cake!

Cappuccino with lots of foam and chocolate

Have you ever seen chocolate art before? I haven't, neither have my friends. The funny thing is, my friend who ordered the hot cocoa, she didn't want to ruin the art and was drinking the coffee, sip by sip, finally she succeeded :)

Satay King, Tsim Sha Tsui

One of Satay King's bestsellers Prawn Spring Rolls: the rolls tasted good and the crust was very crunchy. The mayonnaise however had a bland flavor, it was creamy but didn't have much taste.

The baked rice cake with cheese was incredibly good! The rice cake was soft and chewy and had fully absorbed the strong rich cheese flavor.

The chicken satay was disappointing not because of the meat but it was the dip sauce that ruined the flavor of this dish. The fragrance of the sauce was too mild, too much coconut milk and too little peanut butter.

Sauteed Broccoli and mushrooms in abalone sauce
