Traditional Surinamese food

Pitjel is mixed veggies (bean sprouts & yardlong bean) dressed with Surinamese spicy peanut sauce

Telo (deep-fried cassava) with terie (fried fish)

Telo bakkeljauw: deep-fried cassava with delicious shredded salt cod

My favorite Surinamese dessert Bojo, baked cassava-coconut cake! I prefer the one which is chewy and not too sweet with a crispy crust. *Extremely high in calories because of the coconut, butter and sugar BUT sooooo yummlicious! Would kill for a slice of Bojo!*
