Pizza Express, Tsim Sha Tsui

Pizza Express in Tsim Sha Tsui

Garlic bread Quattro Fromaggi: despite the thick cheese layer on the top, the cheese lacked flavor and couldn't taste the garlic at all.

Fusilli pasta with wild Italian mushrooms in a creamy mushroom sauce was disappointing, firstly the pasta was very dry, there was not much sauce, secondly it was too salty.

The main ingredients of the Trifolata pizza are wild mushrooms, portobello and button mushrooms seasoned with truffle oil, rosemary and garlic. The pizza was amazingly good, very tasty and I found the thin crust very crunchy.

I like their "Banoffee Tortino" which is an Italian tart baked with banana, almonds, caramel and marsala wine sauce finished with mascarpone. Very luscious and not heavy at all because of the thin crust.

Ireland's Potato, Hui Lau Shan, Caffe Pascucci & Sun Shing Kee in Mongkok

Recently, very popular in HK: Ireland's Potato

Best-seller "Special Cheese Fries": huge fries with melted cheese. Delicious! One more cup please!

Best-seller no 2: Fries with honey mustard dressing, a little bit too sweet for my taste but still very good!

Coffee-break at newly opened Caffe Pascucci at Langham Place

They serve a wide selection of espresso and cappuccino coffee, just to name a few special blends: cappuccino with soy milk, yoghurt cappuccino, coffee soda,... The Paspuccio (gold espresso blended with pas-ciok, hot milk, hot foamed milk and caramel syrup) is one of their signature coffees. Thick layer of foam drizzled with lots of caramel, yummy...

The apple crumble tasted quite good though it was not warm enough and the crust lacked of crispness.

Dinner at Sun Shing Kee noodle shop. Tasty fish balls and squid balls with chewy fish noodle.

Quick stop at Hui Lau Shan for a cool & refreshing mango & mango juice with aloe jelly and...

bird's nest & honey jelly in watermelon juice.

Lan Fong Yuen, Central

For a nice cup of "Pantyhose milk tea", delicious "French Toast" and HK-style "Pork chop bun", Lan Fong Yuen cha chaan teng is highly recommended.

The pantyhose milk tea was quite good, it had a smooth & ultra-fine texture.

On the other hand, the pork chop bun was not as good as expected. The bun was soft but I still prefer the kind of bun that has a crispy crust. As for the pork, flavor was ok but the meat was a bit tender. The pork chop bun I had in Macau is still my favorite!

Peanut butter toast with condensed milk: deli & light (comparing to French toast)

Sing Heung Yuen, Central

The Mid-levels Travelator in Central takes you from the bottom to the top in about 20min!

It took us a while to find this street as both me and my cousin are not very familiar with the Central area. After taking a short ride on the mid-levels travelator (which is 800m long and the world's longest covered escalator) and asking a few passer-bys the way (luckily we didn't get lost), we finally managed to find Sing Heung Yuen dai pai dong in Mee Lun Street!

Sing Heung Yuen is a dai pai dong (a street side food stall), famous for their noodles in tomato soup. When we arrived there at 3pm, it was still very crowded and lots of people were waiting for seats.

I tried noodles with beef in tomato soup and my cousin had the same but with macaroni. The soup was very yummy! Very fresh and full of tomato aroma as they use fresh Italian tomato to make the soup base.

Another signature dish is the piglet bun with lemon honey. Crispy and tasty!

After our nice lunch, we took a stroll down this street (forgot the name, was it Gage St. or Graham St.?) where merchants sell Chinese paper lanterns & incense.
